Marco has Won the 2026 European Journal of Neuroscience Image Competition (Artistic Category)!

We’re happy to announce that Marco Uderzo’s artwork, “Into the Brain’s Deep Unknown”, was chosen as the winner of the 2026 edition of the European Journal of Neuroscience (EJN) Image Competition, in the artistic category. His artwork will be showcased at FENS Forum 2026 in Barcelona!

The story around his image, in his own words, is as follows:

“A scientist and her mouse ascend a river towards its source, approaching a magical brain-shaped cave nestled at the summit of the mountain. Their voyage symbolises neuroscience itself: an exploration against the current, towards the origins of thought, memory, and emotion. Inside awaits a mesmerising landscape formed by familiar neural structures, transformed into a living world of discovery. This artwork reflects the courage and curiosity required to navigate the vast, intricate, and still mysterious inner universe of the brain.”
